About David

David Sandbrook is a Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Planner and Chartered Resource and Waste Manager and Fellow of the Institute of Quarrying, with 40 years’ experience of working within the mineral and waste management sectors throughout the UK and overseas advising on estate management, valuation and planning matters.  

David has advised on property and development cases involving construction materials, industrial and critical minerals as well as waste management, recycling and renewable energy facilities.

Career

David has recognised expertise in advising on commercial terms for the sale and letting of mineral and waste management properties, the compulsory acquisition of mineral rights (and associated compensation) and cases involving severed mineral property interests.

Clients have included national and SME businesses, landowners, financial institutions, solicitors, utility companies and infrastructure providers. David has been a lead advisor on mineral matters to HS2 and has advised BGS and BEIS (DESNZ) in relation to Critical Minerals.

The Company

Sandbrook Land and Minerals Limited was established to provide general estate management services (advice on leases, wayleaves, rents and royalties), planning consultancy and specialist advice on issues relating to severed minerals (where the surface and underlying minerals are in different ownership, which may restrict future built development).
